The jobs news was bad again last week, but I didn’t post about it cause it’s no fun to post bad economic news every day. But this morning brings more bad data:
- Service sector index plunges to 41.9%, second lowest result on record
“This is a stunning fall,” said Michael Moran, chief economist at Daiwa Securities America Inc. in New York. “If accurate, it’s dire news on the economy.”
Last week’s job news was equally bad and equally sudden and stunning. Instead of dwelling, I’m wondering if we can’t, in our own little way, get some data about what’s going on out there. Thousands of people read this blog every day. Maybe we can share in our collective knowledge a bit. Take some time to participate in the poll and let’s see how things feel out there in cubicle-land:
