Happy Anniversary to TheJobBored!
One year ago today I wrote the first posts for this blog. It’s been a fun year. More than 400 posts and hundreds of thousands of readers! Not bad for a little side project.
As you might know, the story of this blog is as follows: about a year ago, the stats from our resume service business told us that the job market was entering a tough patch. At the same time, ResumeWriters had gotten so big that it was time for me to step down from day-to-day management and hand things over to professional management.
But I still wanted to have a voice in the wilderness, helping people survive what I felt was going to be a tough career environment. Thus, this blog.
Since the jobs crisis that I saw and warned about 12-9 months ago has finally come home to roost, surviving in the current crisis is mainly what readers are interested in at the moment. And I wrote some great stuff last year, before most of you were around to read it.
So, for the next couple of weeks, I’m going to repackage and repost some of the posts from last year. It’s not that I’m being lazy (I’ll still be posting new items). It’s just that there is some good stuff I wrote in Nov., Jan., March, etc., and some of it is directly applicable to our current crisis.
Anyway. Happy anniversary to us. And we hope to see you next year as well.
