Daylight Savings Ending! Run!

November 1st, 2007 · 5 Comments

Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend. Everyone and your mother (maybe especially your mother) will be reminding you to “fall back” with your clocks. Want an easy, techy way to remind yourself?

Go to http://www.textmemos.com/

I’ve been using them for years. No signup, no spam. Just input your cell phone number. Then input the date and time you want an SMS message sent to your phone. I’d choose early Saturday night or late Sunday morning. Then type in the message to send yourself. How about: “Daylight Savings ist kaput!” Click the REMIND ME button, and look for a snazzy text reminder on your phone. Free, but standard text messaging rates do apply (wow, I sound like American Idol).

[...] Weblog TheJobBored suggests setting up an SMS reminder of the Daylight Savings Time change to ensure you don’t forget to roll back the clock this weekend. The post recommends a site called TextMemos to set up quick and simple future texts to yourself. Just enter your number, select your cell provider, and set the date and time you want it delivered. Then set your message text (Roll back those clocks!) and submit the reminder. Alternatively, if you’ve got a friend or family member that’s notorious for forgetting, you can just as easily set up an SMS reminder for their number. While you’re at it, don’t forget to ready your gadgets and perform a few other DST to-dos. TextMemos [via TheJobBored] [...]
